April Jones's killer attacked in prison

Mark Bridger’s face was slashed with a makeshift knife.

MARK BRIDGER, WHO is serving a whole life sentence for abducting and killing Welsh girl April Jones, was attacked with a blade in jail at the weekend.

According to The Sun newspaper in the UK, the 47-year-old’s face was slashed with a makeshift knife as he walked along a gangway at Wakefield Prison in West Yorkshire.

Prison officers immediately came to his assistance and he was brought to hospital, where he received stitches.

Police are now investigating the incident, reports Sky News.

Bridger was found guilty of of abducting and murdering the five-year-old girl at a trial in May. April had disappeared from outside her home in Machynlleth in October last year. Her body was never recovered.
