Pay Day

Delayed wage payments should be in accounts by end of day

Bank of Ireland said many payments have already been processed and apologised for the delay.

BANK OF IRELAND has said that all banks have now received any delayed payments originating from them.

The bank had been investigating a delay in wage payments as it emerged that customers at a number of banks did not get paid this morning.

This follows a similar incident at the end of last month which saw a delay in processes at Bank of Ireland that meant some public and private sector workers were not paid on time.

A number of readers who are public sector employees contacted this morning about the problem and workers early this morning also took to Twitter to find out what is going on:

In a statement this morning, the bank has now said that the issue has been resolved and the other banks have received any delayed payments.

Many of these payments have already processed and all credits will be in accounts by the end of today.    The bank extends an apology to those who experienced a delay today.

Financial Shared Services (FSS), which operates the payroll for the public sector, had been working with the various financial institutions to resolve the issue.
