Man injured in Clondalkin shooting dies

The man was shot at Cherrywood Drive last night at about 10.30pm.

A MAN WHO was injured in a shooting in Dublin last night has died.

Gardaí said this morning that the man, who was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Clondalkin, was pronounced dead at Tallaght Hospital late last night.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the shooting at Cherrywood Drive, Clondalkin at approximately 10.30pm.

Gardaí said the man received serious injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to Tallaght Hospital. The area was sealed off for a technical examination.

An appeal has been made by gardaí for witnesses or anyone who was in the Cherrywood Drive area of Clondalkin between 10pm and 10.45pm and saw any unusual or suspicious behaviour to contact Clondalkin gardaí at 01 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
