A MAN WAS rescued from Carrauntoohill mountain in Kerry today after he fell and sustained a broken ankle.
The Valentia Coast Guard unit confirmed today that it assisted in the rescue of a man who got into trouble while on the mountain.
The voluntary Kerry Mountain Rescue team were tasked by the gardaí this afternoon to assist with the rescue.
They posted a video to their Facebook page of part of the rescue.

The man fell while on the mountain and sustained a broken ankle. He is believed to be in his thirties.
He was carried by stretcher to the bottom of the mountain where the National Ambulance Service was waiting to bring him to hospital.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital at 5:45pm.
