Call for tech companies to enter €25,000 competition
Entries for the ESB Spark of Genius competition have been extended to Wednesday, with tech start-ups eligible to win the prize.
THE DEADLINE FOR a competition that offers fledgling companies a €25,000 in cash and a host of services has been extended.
The ESB Spark of Genius fund is aimed at high potential tech start-ups and will be awarded at this years Dublin Web Summit.
The competition is open to any Irish start-up which has been in operation for less than three years and has received under €1 million in funding to date.
Entrants will be judged on the uniqueness of their idea, their level of development thus far, and their potential for future growth, say organisers.
Two rounds of pitching will take place during the Dublin Web Summit with the grand final playing out on the Main Stage in front of an audience of thousands of leading international start-ups and technology investors.
Previous winners have included Datahug, who have raised €6million from Salesforce, DFJ and others since winning the coveted prize in 2010, and Smartthings who have raised €3million since their win in 2012.
The last call for entries for the 2013 ESB Spark of Genius Award is 6.00pm on Wednesday, 2 October.
