A TEENAGER HAS died and two other people have been injured after a single-car crash in Co Tipperary, close to the border with Offaly, yesterday.
It happened at Boston on the Ballingarry North to Cloughjordan road yesterday afternoon at around 3.45pm, according to gardaí.
The 16-year-old boy was fatally injured when the car in which he was a rear seat passenger hit a tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to University Hospital Limerick.
The two other occupants of the car, a 22-year-old man and a girl aged 17, were taken to Tullamore Hospital and University Hospital Limerick. The man is described as being in a serious condition.
A stretch of road was closed yesterday as forensic tests were carried out at the scene.
