A PRO-MARIJUANA campaigner lit up a joint on a national TV news programme in South Africa.
Andre du Plessis of the Cannabis Working Group told eNCA.com in an interview that he smoked a ‘dagga joint’ while on SABC News.
He said government in South Africa has not been dealing with the issue of cannabis in the country, and that people in the country smoke cannabis on a daily basis.
“Whether it is illegal or not, it happens,” he said.
Asked why he smoked on air, he said he disagreed with the other contributor to the interview. “The only thing I could really do is sit back and smoke a joint,” he said.
