As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin region, a planned operation was carried out in the Clondalkin area yesterday evening by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
During the operation gardaí intercepted two cars and searched an apartment. Approximately 12kg of MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) powder and 3kg of heroin was seized.
Four men, ranging in age from 30s to 60s, were arrested as part of the investigation.
They are currently being detained at Clondalkin and Ronanstown Garda Stations under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act. They can be detained for up to seven days.
The combined street value of the controlled drugs seized is estimated at €1.1 million (pending analysis).
