TWO PEOPLE WERE treated for the affects of pepper spray in hospital today following protests in Dublin city centre.
Gardaí confirmed that three people were hospitalised after they tried to break through barriers outside Leinster House.
The third person was cut during the attempt and treated for a wound.
Three other people were arrested during the demonstration.
Gardaí reported no arrests or injuries from a second rally which took place on O’Connell Bridge from about 5pm this evening.
Traffic was brought to a standstill when about 50 members of various groups, including Irish Republican Voice and Republican Sinn Féin, sat down on the bridge and blocked cars on both the north and south quays.
