Biography

A former member of Fine Gael, he was first elected to the Seanad in 1987 before being elected to the Dáil in 1989. He served in the Dáil until 2002 when he failed to retain his seat. He was subsequently elected to the Seanad in 2002 and has served since. He contested the 2007 general election but failed to win a seat.
