Máire Hoctor is seeking re-election as a Fianna Fáil candidate in Tipperary North. The 58-year-old entered politics in 1994 when she was elected on to Nenagh Town Council and was chosen as a member of North Tipperary County Council for the first time in 1999. In 2002, the Nenagh native was elected to her first term in Dáil Éireann and was successfully returned by the people of Tipperary North five years later. Hoctor was Minister of State with Responsibility for Older People from 2007-2009.
