Two cars were also damaged when a device detonated outside a house in Walkinstown.

A DEVICE EXPLODED in Walkinstown, south Dublin yesterday morning, blowing in the windows of a house.

The bomb also damaged two cars when it exploded at around 1.15am. It is believed to have been placed underneath one vehicle outside the home, and caused damage to that as well as an adjacent car.

Glass was blown out of the windows of the house at Temple Manor, Greenhills and there was some damage to window frames.

It’s not clear whether there were any injuries in the explosion.

A Defence Forces unit was called in by gardaí to carry out post-blast analysis at the scene. The unit arrived on the cordoned-off scene at around 9.30am, and departed around an hour later after examining the scene.
