This will help you clean up your Facebook news feed quickly
And all without removing a single friend.

EVEN THOUGH FACEBOOK uses a curated feed, it can still end up feeling cluttered and unwieldy.

Pages you liked but aren’t really interested in any longer, people you’ve added as friends, but you don’t want to remove them and groups that aren’t as relevant as they once were.

The good news is you don’t have to go nuclear with friends, pages and groups or change it so that all items appear chronologically. There’s a much simpler method.

In this case, we’re going to look at the desktop version as it’s faster to filter through with a mouse.

First, hover the mouse over news feed on the left-hand side, just underneath your profile. You should see a cog on the left like this. Click on it and select Edit Preferences.

Here you shall see the most popular pages, people and groups in your news feed. This is a great way to both see who and what it prioritises and start cleaning it up a little.

Alongside the summary section, there are individual pages for groups, pages and people, allowing you to reduce the influence a page or person has without removing it entirely.

Alternatively, you can access the same features on the app as well. Just go into the menu and scroll down until you find ‘news feed preference.’ The same options will be there, but a smaller screen and touch controls means it will take a little longer to prune.
