Investigation underway after man (20s) fatally stabbed in Clontarf

Another man in his 20s was arrested and taken to Clontarf Garda Station.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a man in his 20s was fatally stabbed in Clontarf this morning.

The incident occurred at a house in the St. Lawrence Road area of Clontarf, Dublin 3, at approximately 7:15am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a technical examination is underway.

The house on St. Lawrence Road is a low-support independent living residence for mental health rehabilitation operated by the HSE.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie, a spokesperson for the HSE said families of residents were being notified and residents have been moved to alternative accommodation.

“The HSE are providing supports to family and residents and are actively reviewing and responding to the incident in line with the HSE Incident Management Framework,” the HSE said. 

A man, also aged in his 20s, has been arrested and is currently being detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
