In Ireland, there are 500,00 cases of mouth, head or neck cancer every year. RTÉ reports that three people die each week in Ireland from such diseases.

The symptoms of such cancers are an ulcer in the mouth that does not heal, white or red patches in the mouth, or a lump in the mouth or neck. Doctors have said that many patients do not seek treatment for such symptoms until advanced stages, decreasing their chances  of recovery.
