Checkpoint set up for information on Louth crash that killed three women last week
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information about a three-car crash in Louth last week that killed three women.

Margaret McGonigle (69), her daughter Mairead Mundy and a friend Rachel Battles died following the crash last Friday morning.

It happened south of Aclint Bridge, Ardee, Co Louth at around 1am.

Gardaí set up a checkpoint this morning between 12 midnight and 1am to see if any of the motorists had travelled on that part of the road at the same time last week.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ardee Garda Station on 041 6871130, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
