THE TÁNAISTE EAMON Gilmore and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin have this morning given strong backing to the embattled Health Minister James Reilly.
Speaking on their way into a Cabinet meeting at Government Buildings, both Labour ministers said that Reilly is doing a good job in the health service.
Gilmore said that the government is undertaking “major reform of the health service” at a time of great financial constraint.
“He is doing a very good job in leading that reform and he has the full support of the government in doing so,” Gilmore said of Reilly.
Meanwhile, Howlin told reporters he has “confidence in James” saying he is doing his job “very well” and has the full support of every member of the Cabinet:
