A MAN WAS attacked with a hammer as he was leaving a graveyard in West Belfast earlier this week.
The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Thursday when the 24-year-old man was leaving the city cemetery and was confronted by a number of masked men.
PSNI officers say that as the man was leaving the cemetery a white coloured Hyundai car pulled up and blocked him.
Three of the men got out and assaulted him with hammer. He suffered a number of injuries to his leg and was treated in hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or has information is being asked to contact police or the independent charity Crimestoppers.
