WITH AMENITIES FOR families of all ages and stages of life, multiple transport links to Dublin and a great sense of community, it’s easy to understand why Navan, Co Meath has become a popular spot for buyers outside the capital.

And the rapidly growing population numbers prove it. In 1991, Navan had a population of just 3,400. According to the 2016 Census, that has grown to more than 30,000.

An established commuter hub, there are two junctions onto the M3 both north and south of the town, meaning the trip to Dublin city can take 45 minutes by car or an hour via the Navan Express bus. Closer to home, Blanchardstown Centre is a 30-minute drive away, while jet-setters can be at Dublin Airport in 40 minutes.

For families, there are a number of primary and secondary schools in and around the town centre, as well as sports clubs such as Navan O’Mahony’s GAA, Simonstown Gaels Gaa, Navan Rugby Club and much more.

The River Boyne and River Blackwater both run by the town, and provide peaceful locations to go on a walk or be close to nature. Blackwater Park, which measures an impressive 68 acres, is less than a five-minute drive from the town centre and offers the perfect spot to spend weekend mornings as a family.

As for the town centre itself, Navan Shopping Centre is home to a Tesco, Penneys, Dealz, Dunnes Stores and Argos, while there are a number of smaller bars, restaurants and cafes dotted throughout the town.
