NY banker had no injuries after alleged rape incident, court is told

His only injury was a scratch on his cuticle.

A NEW YORK banker accused of raping an Irish woman has appeared before a court in Riverhead, New York.

It is being reported this morning that Jason Lee’s defence lawyer stated that he had no injuries after the incident, only a scratch on one of his cuticles.

His lawyer, Andrew Lankler, has told the court that the investigation into the case was “rushed” and that there are “inconsistencies”, according to Business Insider.

The incident is said to have happened in August 2013 at a house that Lee rented with his wife in the summer resort town of East Hampton.

The alleged incident happened on Lee’s 37th birthday. Him and his friends met the Irish woman, who was in the US on a J1, at the Georgica Restaurant and Lounge – after which he invited her, her brother and one of her female friends back to his rental property.

During the opening statements at the trial, Assistant District Attorney Kerriann Kelly said Lee broke into the bathroom while naked and knocked the woman to the floor before raping her while she attempted to fight him off.

Defence lawyer Lankler has told the court that there is a photo from the nightclub they were at before the incident showing Lee and the then 20-year-old Irish woman involved in physical contact.

Lee has pleaded not guilty to the charges of rape in the first-degree, sexual misconduct and assault in the third-degree and has been bailed for $100,000 (€94,000).

If convicted he could face 25 years in prison.

The prosecutor said that a nurse who examined the woman after the incident found her injuries to be “consistent” with her rape allegations.

Lee had worked with Goldman Sachs but is no longer with the company.
