DREAM JOBS DON’T come along every day. So when Liam Tutty found his, he went to some serious lengths to get it.
Tutty is a massive beer fan – so massive, in fact, that he converted his garage into a tap room so he could create and serve his own home brew.
When he saw that the Rye River Brewing Company (creator of McGargle’s, amongst other craft beers) was looking for staff for their new plant in Co Kildare, he hatched a rather excellent plan to secure his ideal job.
He brewed a special IPA beer just for his application, then designed a label based on the McGargle’s bottles (the beer was titled ‘Liam Wants A Job’, naturally).
The website on the label, McGargliams.com, is a real website Tutty set up to house his online CV.
When it was all ready, he packed the beer off to Rye River Brewing along with a special McGargle’s-themed cover letter, and the waiting game began…
He didn’t have to wait long, though, as Rye River founder Niall Phelan called him up as soon as the package arrived at the brewery. Needless to say, Tutty starts his new job there on December 14.
Seriously impressive. Congrats, Liam!
