Water charge protesters demonstrated at Joan Burton's house last night

There were fewer than 10 people and no arrests.

A SMALL GROUP of anti-water charge protesters held a demonstration outside the home of Social Protection Minister Joan Burton last night.

Fewer than 10 people attended the protest at the north Dublin home of the Tánaiste and Labour leader.

Gardaí said that the protest, which lasted a number of hours, was entirely peaceful and there were no arrests.

It is not known if Burton was at home at the time.

Protests have been held outside the houses of a number of members of cabinet.

Last month, a group of former aviation workers held a protest outside Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe’s home.

The Tánaiste had no comment today.
