Garda watchdog body to investigate Kerry road crash

The incident has been reported to GSOC.

GARDAÍ IN KERRY have appealed for witnesses to a two-vehicle collision that left a woman in her 30s seriously injured this evening.

The crash happened at 7:45pm on the N22 Killarney to Tralee road, about seven miles from Killarney.

The woman, who was the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, was taken to Kerry General Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, an official Garda van, was hospitalised with what are described as minor injuries.

The road remains open but a lane has been closed to allow an investigation to take place.
