Man arrested after gun seized in Limerick

Gardaí carried out a planned search of the home in Ballinacurra Weston last night.

A MAN HAS been arrested after Gardaí seized a gun from a house in Limerick city last night.

The planned search of the home on Clarina Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, took place at around 8pm on Sunday. A large number of Gardaí were involved, including the dog unit and the Divisional Drug Unit.

The man is being held at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A technical examination is being carried out on the weapon.
