A MAN HAS been arrested in connection with the house fire that killed a five-year-old girl in Boyle, Co Roscommon.
The man in his 30s was taken into custody this afternoon in the Sligo area, and is currently being questioned by officers at Boyle garda station.
The victim, who has been named as Mari Connolly, was killed early on Monday morning by a blaze at the house she was sleeping in. A man in his late 20s and two other children managed to escape from the fire, which was discovered between 2.30am and 3am.
Gardaí announced yesterday that they were treating the fire as suspicious, and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
