A MAN HAS died after being struck by a car in Kerry.
Gardaí in Tralee are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place this morning.
At about 8.35am a man was seriously injured after he was struck by a car on the (R551) Tralee to Ardfert road at Ballyroe.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene and the man was pronounced dead there.
His body was removed to Tralee General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The driver of the car – a 20-year-old man – was not injured.
Gardaí forensic collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene and the road has since reopened to traffic.
Gardaí said that the local coroner has been notified.
