This week, Martina Creevey’s (@martinas_cosy_crib) master bedroom was our inspiration.
“What I really like about the room is that during the day it feels so airy and fresh, yet at night time it has a cosy, relaxing atmosphere,” says Martina. “This bedroom gets the sun in the morning, which also helped me in choosing colours that I knew would work.”
I like to have a wander around charity shops and find nice pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.
All of the furniture in Martina’s bedroom is upcycled, but HomeSense and TK Maxx are her favourite interiors shops for decorating. Below are six high-street products that’ll help you get this look in your own home…
1. Beaded lampshade, €25, Argos
Adding a statement lampshade like Martina’s is an easy way to update a room.
2. Gold table lamp, €25, Ikea
Match your accessories to door handles and door knobs, like Martina has done, to create a cohesive feel.
3. Pink cushion cover, €9.99, H&M
If you don’t fancy undertaking a big project, adding some new cushions or a duvet is a simple way to change the look of a room.
4. Straw basket, €24, Marks & Spencer
Straw baskets are ideal for storing blankets, pillows or clothes, and they look good too.
5. Gold mirror, €13, Ikea
Mix up a gallery wall by adding in mirrors of different shapes and sizes.
6. Dragonfly print, €4.95, Desenio
If you like the look of gallery walls but don’t want to plan for a large space, choose a few smaller prints for the same effect.
