POLICE IN THE UK investigating alleged inappropriate payments by journalists have arrested a former employee of the National Health Service (NHS).
The 52-year-old woman was detained at her home in Derbyshire at 6am today. She is being questioned in relation to suspected misconduct in public office and corruption.
She is the 70th person to be arrested as part of since Operation Elveden, a probe into media conduct which began in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal at the News of the World.
Earlier this week, two former prison officers were arrested in connection with the investigation.
