DUBLIN AIRPORT HAS issued an appeal via social media to try and find the owner of a photograph dating back to 1946.
The item was found by an employee yesterday who handed it into security at Terminal One.
The picture shows two young children playing outside. The inscription on its reverse names them as David and Sandra, and states their location as Neville Road in Birmingham, which is a residential area in the north of the city.
It is thought that around 150,000 people have seen the picture on Facebook, with many more seeing it on other social media platforms.
A spokesperson for the airport said that while they have an online system in place for reporting items left at the airport, the sentimental value of the picture and the possibility that the owner may not have a copy was what prompted the social media appeal.
Anyone who might know anything about the photograph can contact Dublin Airport via Twitter or Facebook or by contacting their switchboard on 01814 1111.
