Plane makes emergency landing after wheel part falls off

The Israeli passenger plane en route to Prague was forced to turn back.

AN ISRAELI PASSENGER plane was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv today after part of a wheel came off, an airport official said.

“An El Al flight bound for Prague was forced to make an emergency landing after parts of one of its tyres were discovered on the runway,” the official told AFP.

The plane was forced to circle continuously before landing.

The plane has now landed without incident.

The airport’s fire and emergency services were put on alert after the tyre fragments were discovered.

The aircraft was carrying 181 passengers and staff, local media said.
