Why Twitter will pick the Irish

London blogger outlines her reasons for believing the social media giant will chose Dublin for its HQ.

AS A DIE-HARD Londoner it’s hard to admit this, but when Twitter comes to Europe next year seeking a country to plant the flag for its corporate headquarters, it’ll probably choose Dublin over London. The reason is little to do with cheap rent and authentic pints of Guinness, partly because there is already a buzzing community of people working for tech giants like Google, Facebook and Apple, and mostly to do with the breathtakingly-low rate of corporation tax (12.5%) the lowest in the Eurozone. Britain’s corporate tax rate is 28%.
