Man armed with knife robs off licence

The PSNI are seeking information on the incident, which took place in Ballynahinch last night.

POLICE ARE LOOKING for information after a young man armed with a knife robbed an off licence last night.

Detectives in Downpatrick are appealing for information following the armed robbery in the Drumaness Road area of Ballynahinch last night.

At approximately 9pm, a young male armed with a knife entered an off licence. He took two bottles of wine and demanded money from the till. No money was taken as the male then fled the shop with the two bottles when another customer entered.

A staff member was left badly shaken but unhurt in the incident.

The male is described as being in his mid to late teens, approximately 5’6″ tall and of a very slim build. He was wearing a black jacket, grey hooded top and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
