POLICE IN THE north have arrested two men in connection with the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr in April 2011.

The men were arrested by the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch today, one in Omagh and the other having been brought from a prison.

They have both been taken to Musgrave’s Serious Crime Suite where they are currently being questioned by police.

The 25-year-old PSNI officer died after a bomb exploded under his car as he left his apartment in Highfield Close at 3.45pm on Saturday, 2 April, 2011 to go to work in Enniskillen.

In 2015, an appeal for information was renewed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives in Serious Crime Branch at the Maydown police complex on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, people can provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
