The search is focusing on Toe Head and Mizen Head.

A MULTI-AGENCY search is underway off the coast of Cork after an elderly fisherman was reported missing.

The man had gone fishing near Cape Clear at 11am today and was reported missing around 8pm.

A subsequent search found his boat, but not him.

A search and rescue operation involving RNLI lifeboats from Baltimore and Schull, the Coast Guard Rescue 115 helicopter, the LÉ Orla naval vessel and a number of local fishing vessels has been taking place since then.

The search is focusing on Toe Head and Mizen Head, where weather conditions are said to be good.
