TWO MONTHS AGO photos of a young boy being rescued by aid workers in Nigeria went viral.
Anja Ringgren Loven, the Danish founder of the African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation, shared the images online.
The two-year-old boy, who was named Hope, had reportedly been wandering the streets for months after his family abandoned him because they thought he was a witch.
Loven has now given an update on Hope’s condition.
He is due to undergo surgery for hypospadias (a urethra that isn’t completely developed), but otherwise is doing well.
“As you can see … Hope is really enjoying his life now having 35 new brothers and sisters who ALL take such good care of him, play with him, study with him, and make sure he is safe and is getting a lot of love,” Loven wrote.
