Built in 1923, the theatre has been closed since 2004.

THE STELLA THEATRE is having its grand reopening tonight.

The south Dublin venue closed its doors in 2004 but will re-emerge as a cinema venue tonight.

Built in 1932, the theatre has been restored to its original glory – with a cocktail bar and balcony viewing added.

Earlier, TheJournal.ie had a peak inside as the space was unveiled and staff got ready for their first guests.

Tonight’s event is invite-only, unfortunately for all of us, but members of the public can visit from 31 October.
