British socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has died aged 45

BRITISH SOCIALITE TARA Palmer Tomkinson has died at the age of 45.

The 45-year-old was found dead at her flat, the Sun reports.

She had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016. In November of last year, Palmer-Tomkinson said that she had been diagnosed with the brain tumour in the pituitary gland the previous January, and that it had cleared following treatment.

As a so-called ‘It-Girl’, Palmer-Tomkinson was a familiar face in British tabloids and celebrity magazines in the 90s.

She first came to public attention due to a weekly column in the Sunday Times, which it was later revealed was ghostwritten based on phoned-in comments.

A talented pianist, she performed at events at the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall.

She also went on to star in a number of reality TV shows, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

Her father, Charles Palmer-Tomkinson and mother Patricia are close friends of Prince Charles and Palmer-Tomkinson grew up in Hampshire on the family’s estate.

In recent years, Palmer-Tomkinson had been concentrating on her fashion line, Desiderata.

Tributes are being paid to the late socialite on social media:
