A group calling themselves “the IRA” had claimed responsibility for the killing.
A man has been released in the investigation into the murder of a man in Belfast, as police continue to appeal for information.
The 39-year-old was arrested on Friday but has now been released unconditionally as police continue to investigate the killing of Kevin Kearney.
In a statement issued by the group the killing was carried out because of “torture and degradation” of dissident prisoners at Maghaberry jail.
