5 – The number of Christmases an American woman was sentenced to spend in jail as part of her sentence for making false ID cards for illegal immigrants. Ouch.

10 – The number of Supreme Court judges now after the Government introduced legislation and appointed two new judges to Ireland’s highest court.

30 – The number of people rescued from the tall ship Astrid which ran aground off the coast of Kinsale on Wednesday.  A member of the local lifeboat said it was “a miracle” that everyone onboard escaped unharmed.

89 – The percentage of household in Ireland which have paid the Local Property Tax, according to new figures from The Revenue Commissioners.

190 – The speed in kilometres of the train which crashed in Spain on Wednesday night just before it derailed. At least 78 people died and more than 140 were injured in the crash, the worst in Spain’s history.

200 – The amount in euros a Permanent TSB customer was in arrears with her mortgage when the financial institution advised her to sell her house.

388 – The number of complaints received by the ethics watchdog last year which related directly to Tipperary North TD Michael Lowry.

2019 – The earliest date when Dublin could get its own directly-elected mayor, according to current Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn.

3.14 million – The number of tourists who visited Ireland between January and June of this year. More than 1.2 million came from Britain.
