GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the tragic death of a woman who was struck by an out-of-service commuter train not far from Adamstown station in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesperson from Irish Rail said the woman was struck and fatally injured 500 yards from Adamstown station at about 12.20am.
The emergency services are still on the scene and gardaí said they are investigating the circumstances of the tragic death.
All of Irish Rail’s intercity services will be disrupted until further notice due to the incident, and bus transfers will be in place between Heuston station and Hazelhatch station.
Delays are to be expected until Irish Rail receive word from the gardaí that the line can be re-opened.
