Two men arrested in connection with €4 million investment fraud operation

The men have since been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested as part of an investigation into a multimillion euro investment fraud operation.

The men aged in their 30s and 40s were arrested in Dublin yesterday morning and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station where they were released without charge last night.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

This is part of an ongoing investigation by the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation assisted by the Criminal Assets Bureau into an operation involving €4 million investment fraud and related money laundering.

In February, A 49-year-old man was arrested in Leitrim as part of the investigation.

A significant amount of money held in various bank accounts was frozen in relation to that arrest.

Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.
