THE PASSENGERS ON this Brazilian bus got a lucky escape during a pretty frightening incident.

The dramatic video shows how the passengers disembarked in time before a giant sinkhole swallowed the bus.

It was then carried away by a raging river. It looks as though flooding may have caused subsidence of the road, which led to the sinkhole.

The BBC says the incident occurred in the Para state in Brazil.
