IF YOU HAVE ever wanted to see what Dublin was like back in the 1960s, now you can.
This incredible 10-minute video of a bus driver journeying around the capital in 1965 is something very, very special.
From the gardaí directing traffic in their special outfits, the Volkswagen and Ford cars, the as-yet unmarked roads, and the bicycles, to the pedestrians constantly walking in front of vehicles, it’s a goosebump-inducing glimpse back into a past that many of us can literally only dream about.
According to Liffeybanx, who uploaded the video to YouTube, the footage was part of a CIE Dublin Bus training video that was shot in 1965.

The video is silent, so why not do what Wistorical - the Facebook page that alerted us to this video – suggests and listen to some mid-60s tunes to accompany it? We’ve found that the Beatles’ Ticket to Ride works extremely well.
