Wet wet wet

There's snow in some parts of the country - but it's getting warmer, we promise

Ten degrees? Tropic.

Updated 1.45pm

THE FREEZING COLD weather of the weekend will be gone today, but that doesn’t mean the weather will be nice.

Some parts of the country still have snow however, as this photo from Derek McAllister proves:

He took that at Drumgoff, nearby Aughavannagh, County Wicklow earlier today.

Met Éireann says that rain will spread countrywide this morning, breaking for a period this afternoon.

It will remain overcast, but temperatures will reach 10 degrees in places.

Tonight, rain will become persistent again from the west but will begin to clear. Overnight temperatures will dip to around five degrees.

Tomorrow will see rain clearing and temperatures reaching 10 degrees, but a strong wind will make it feel cold.

It will remain windy and rainy into Wednesday and Thursday, while the weekend won’t be much different.

“Next weekend will remain cold with isolated showers but probably a good deal of sunshine also, though quite frosty at night.”

Looks like that snow will be there for a while in Wicklow, however.
