FORMER ANGLO IRISH Bank director of finance Willie McAteer was arrested and charged today in relation to financial irregularities relating to the bank’s deposit books.
He was arrested today at 9am and taken to Bridewell Garda Station. He appeared in the Dublin District Court at 10.30am where he was charged and remanded on bail.
McAteer is the fourth person to be accused of fraud by inflating deposits at Anglo.
Three other men were also arrested in relation to financial irregularities.
In April, Willie McAteer was found guilty on charges of providing unlawful loans for shares to the so-called Maple 10.
He was found not guilty of six other charges relating to loans provided to the Quinn Family.
He was sentenced to community service.
Today, all men took up bail pending their next hearing.
