1. #COURT Denis O’Brien’s legal action against the Oireachtas is back in court today. The action was taken by the businessman over marks made in the Dáil under privilege.

2. #EDUCATION The government is to launch its digital strategy for schools today. The five-year plan is expected to involve grants to individual schools, RTÉ reports.

3. #HUMAN RIGHTS Amnesty International is calling for the west to stop supplying arms to those who are ‘committing war crimes’. Its new report has uncovered evidence of ‘unlawful airstrikes’ in Yemen.

4. #YIKES The owner of a reptile store in Kentucky was rescued by police officers after being crushed by a python. The Guardian reports that the snake was six metres long.

5. #MENTAL HEALTH Nurses are refusing to work at a mental health unit in University Hospital Galway over concerns for their own safety. They claim a number of assaults have occurred at the unit.

6. #TERRORISM Four people have been arrested over the terror-linked murder of a police employee in Sydney, Australia. The arrests came after a series of raids.

7. #APPEALS Students who appealed their results in this year’s Leaving Certs will find out this morning how they got on. In total, 5,660 students made appeals, which resulted in 1,822 upgrades.

8. #IRISH WATER There are plans to cut 1,200 people from the Irish Water workforce, the utility said today. The move is to help reduce costs.

9. #HEALTH OF THE NATION A new report expected out today will show that while smoking rates have fallen, obesity has peaked in Ireland. The Irish Times reports that the survey shows only one-third of us get enough daily exercise.
