#Áras11 diary: Where the candidates will be today

AS THE CAMPAIGN for the presidential election continues, check out where you can meet the candidates today:

Mary Davis will travel to Wicklow this afternoon, visiting Greystones (3pm), Bray Lakers Community Centre (3.30pm) and Wicklow Gaol (4.40pm), before meeting the Wicklow Chamber of Commerce (5pm). She then travels to Arklow for a tree-planting ceremony at 6pm, and later to the Vault Youth Centre to arrive at 7pm.

Seán Gallagher is headed for Kildare, with an 8am engagement at the Killashee House Hotel in Naas before he visits Rathangan Secondary School at 11am. At 2.30pm he’ll take part in a tree planting ceremony at The Glebe Primary Montessori School in Celbridge.

Michael D Higgins will be visiting Kerry and Cork. He’ll start off at 10.30am canvassing shoppers at the Mall in Tralee, before heading to Killarney’s Main Street for another walkabout at 2.30pm. At 7.30pm he will address students at UCC’s Philosophical and Law Societies.

Martin McGuinness will visit Carrick-on-Shannon at 9.30am, from where he will travel to Ballaghaderreen and then Sligo, meeting the public in each town., At 8.30pm he’ll appear at a support rally in the Sligo Park Hotel.

Gay Mitchell will travel to Donegal, where he’ll visit Raphoe Livestock Mart at 12.30pm, then Crannagh College Community School in Buncrana at 2.30pm. At 15.45 he will meet shoppers in Letterkenny town centre, before heading for Donegal town where he will visit the Supervalu Shopping Centre at 5.30pm.

David Norris will be canvassing in Portlaoise (11am), Carlow (2:30pm) and Tallaght (5pm), before returning to his campaign HQ for its official opening.

At the time of writing no information was available on the schedule of Dana Rosemary Scallon.
