Four-year-old boy found wandering the streets barefoot last night

The boy has been unable to tell police in Birmingham his name or anything else which could help to identify him.

POLICE IN ENGLAND have appealed for help after a boy, thought to be about four years old, was found wandering the streets barefoot late last night.

The boy has so far been unable to tell officers his name or any other details which could help to identify him.

He was taken to a local police station after he was found in Sparkbrook in Birmingham just before 10pm on Thursday night and is now being looked after by social services.

West Midlands Police say the boy may be Somalian and is thought to be around four years old. He is black, has short black afro hair, and was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms and a yellow t-shirt.

“This is obviously very unusual and worrying [and] we urgently appeal for the parents, or anyone who believes they may know the family of this little boy to contact us,” said Amer Shams of the Birmingham East Police.

“Thankfully he did not come to any harm and he is being well looked after. We need to try and get him back to where he should be”.

Members of the public found the boy on the street and contacted the police, Amer Shams said.
