Woman in serious condition after being shot by British anti-terror police

Six people have been arrested.

A WOMAN IS in a serious but stable condition this morning after being shot by British anti-terror police.

The woman was shot around 7pm last night in an operation in Willesden.

During the operation a 20-year-old woman, who is one of the subjects of the investigation, was shot by police. She remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Due to her condition, she has not been arrested at this time and remains under police guard at hospital.

Six people have been arrested in connection with the raids. The first, a 20-year-old man was arrested near the address. A man aged 16 and woman aged 20 were arrested at the house. A 43-year-old woman was arrested in Kent a short while later. Another two people have been arrested today.

All six have been arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts under section 41 of the terrorism act 2000.

They are currently in custody at a south London Police station.

Police say the incident is not connected to the arrest of a man close to Downing Street yesterday.

There are no other reported injuries.
