Two charged after seizure of cannabis plants worth €100,000

Seven men were arrested in total yesterday after searches of 20 properties in the greater Dublin area.

TWO MEN HAVE been charged following a massive garda operation yesterday in which twenty premises in the greater Dublin area were searched and €100,000 worth of cannabis plants were seized.

In total seven men were arrested yesterday after the raids which were part of an operation to combat the sale and supply of drugs.

The plants as well as a small amount of cocaine were found in the searches and gardaí said they were satisfied that the plants were grown in eleven of the premises and that cannabis manufacturing was taking place in nine of the eleven premises.

Today gardaí said that the two men who were charged will appear in court at a later date. The other five men who were being detained yesterday have now been released without charge and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
